SERVICES

Bathing, Dressing and Grooming

Bathing can be a pleasant part of anyone’s day.  After bathing we feel clean and refreshed. However, when bathing becomes difficult it is just one example of a critical life activity that can take away independence. Hygiene issues can lead to health concerns & can influence one’s ability to age in place.  Helping someone bathe can be problematic without proper training.  We develop a relationship with our client to understand their unique needs.  We can give moderate assistance to those desiring to be as self-sufficient as possible. And we are trained for more demanding situations such as transferring to a shower bench and giving bed baths.  Whatever your need, we aim to make bathing a pleasant and relaxing experience.

Meal Preparation

Food is vitality.  Proper nutrition can increase resistance to illness and produce higher levels of energy.  As we age, eating well can also be the key to a positive outlook and staying emotionally balanced.  Whether your Neuropathy keeps you from standing long enough to cook or you just need a little help cooking, we can assist.  If you need monitoring of your particular diet restrictions – like for Diabetes or a Heart Healthy Diet, we are here for you for meal preparation, cooking and clean up.

Household Chores

Maintaining a clutter-free, clean environment is good for one’s state of mind and helps create less chance for accidents in the home.  Assistance with laundry, changing linens, trash, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and general housekeeping are examples of the assistance we can provide.  If you find that remembering to write the checks for your monthly household bills is a problem, we can help you organize your bills and pay on time.

Shopping and Errands

Driving safely can become an issue due to vision problems, delayed reaction time or confusion.  Giving up the independence of driving can be a difficult choice. We can make that decision less overwhelming by helping with all those demanding errands that are necessary to keep your household running smoothly.  We can assist with grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, or running general errands while you relax at home.

Respite Care

Dementia is a common diagnosis as one ages. One can have general symptoms, or specific symptoms related to a disease like Alzheimer’s. Understanding specific symptoms and interacting correctly when you care for someone with dementia or Alzheimer’s is very important.  Activities like letter writing, reading, playing cards, and general conversation are ways to create meaningful days for your loved-one who needs a little company to get through the day.
